On the edge of the Tarn department, Montgaillard seems to wish travellers a good journey, unrolling a carpet of landscapes, a patchwork of meadows, valleys and crops.
A mosaic of colors and landscapes
There is fertile land there, suitable for many crops. At the bottom of the village, the Tescou stream flows peacefully and brings the freshness that irrigates the plain.
Montgaillard, it is a succession of paintings, a series of multiple landscapes, each more colorful than the last. The hills follow one another as far as the eye can see, and light up at the slightest ray of sunshine. In spring, it is the fallow land that offers a bed of colorful flowers. In summer, the blond of the wheat takes over the color palette and structures the landscape according to the harvests and the bales of straw, closely followed by the fields of sunflowers that bring this touch of a very particular yellow. In autumn, it is the shades of ochre that are in the spotlight, setting the landscape ablaze with golden and glowing notes. Finally, in winter, the mist fills the valleys and plains with mystery. During your hikes, you will probably see deer frolicking at the beginning and end of the day. Everything is beautiful and peaceful, it is nature without artifice, a certain sense of truth, an authentic and soothing beauty.
