Domaine In Ventis
The Domaine In Ventis extends over 10 hectares in the heart of Occitanie.
In Rabastens (81 Tarn), in the heart of the GAILLAC AOP, we perpetuate, cultivate and renew the family wine history that began in 1874.

40 km from Toulouse, Montauban and Albi, Jean-Baptiste, Mathilde and Martin started out in 2016 as Independent Winegrowers.
It is now in Organic Agriculture that our passion is expressed in our wines, between typicality and originality.
In Ventis means In the Winds, (may Latin purists forgive us this mistake). The Terroir:
The vines are located on the first slopes of the Tarn valley on clay-limestone soil ideal for producing powerful and very aromatic wines.
The name In Ventis, which means “In the Winds”, well expresses the particular terroir of the estate, where the Autan and West winds are omnipresent. The wind, this essential ally that dries the humidity of the rains and prevents diseases, also concentrates the grapes and the aromas in hot weather.
The entire production has been engaged in a process of conversion to organic farming since 2018.
Wines :
The In Ventis estate offers red wines from ancestral and indigenous Gaillac grape varieties.
Exploited with relatively low yields with an average of 40 hl/ha, all the wines have their own characteristics and highlight the true nature of each grape variety.
We find the vintages (non-exhaustive list):
– Black Pepper: 100% Duras. Don’t be fooled by its name! This is not the latest superhero from Hollywood, but rather an original creation from our family. It is on our clay-limestone hillsides above the Tarn that our Duras plays its best role. Both fiery and with silky tannins, it is not lacking in character, like a diva that we can only admire.
– Le Vif du Sujet: 100% Prunelart. A powerful, distinctive and surprising wine, representing this indigenous grape variety well. Le Vif du Sujet is the assurance of a precious moment between bon vivants, around a meal where we indulge ourselves. A surprising aromatic palette.
– Les Choses Sérieuses: Braucol vinified in 400L oak barrels with medium toast, giving pride of place to the very particular aroma of this grape variety. Power and aging potential.
– 100% Viognier – Dry white. Uncommon in the Gaillac vineyard, this grape variety expresses itself wonderfully on our first hillsides and produces a dry white with measured acidity and inimitable and very, very delicious apricot aromas. As an aperitif or with oysters, a treat!
