Château de Terride

A unique and unusual place, Château de Terride is located in the middle of the Grésigne woods, completely out of the way from the rest of the Gaillac wine appellation.
Gastronomy heritage and tastings are on the agenda.
Not far from Puycelsi, a village classified among the most beautiful in France and a major site in Occitanie, nestles at the top of the hills an estate with unique charm, which some lovers of landscapes compare to Tuscany. Acquired by Alix's parents in 1996, this magnificent property bears witness to the beautiful history of this region, the one that Alix likes to tell to recall its nobility.
A former hunting lodge, the Château de Terride now extends over nearly 34 hectares away from the Gaillac vineyards. Its grape varieties are composed of 80% red grape varieties such as Duras, Syrah, Braucol, and 20% white grape varieties Mauzac, Loin de l'Oeil.

By opening their Château and its garden to receptions, weddings and other events, Alix and Romain intend to share their taste for beauty and refinement.

Passionate about beautiful architecture, Alix restores and embellishes this Château that she lives in and knows by heart since the age of 20. From the vines to the cellar, this place is his Proust madeleine. She remembers these family harvests which ended up making her want to be a winegrower... At the origin of the association “Les Z'elles Gaillacoises”, she contributes today with her winegrower friends to the preservation of the dovecotes of its entire territory.
Fully aware of the exceptional environment of the Château de Terride, with protected areas and even Natura 2000, Alix has also forged a philosophy which guides her work and more broadly her existence every day: “leaving an imprint of beauty and wisdom rather than a scar.
Finally, Alix loves fantasy… Beyond the cuvées traditionally made with Syrah, Duras or Braucol, Alix has moved away somewhat from the traditional grape varieties of the Gaillac appellation by planting Grenache or Viognier. These “whims” have given their name to generous, daring and modern cuvées, not unrelated to the personality of the winemaker…

If Alix is passionate about vines and wine, Romain is passionate about cooking and tableware. He is the other side of the field.
A lover of good things and true moments, Romain is an epicurean who loves to share and please by cooking. He regularly organizes culinary events entitled “A la Table de Romain”. On these occasions, great chefs join him, gastronomic pairings are imagined with Alix's vintages and the large room of the Château is transformed into a temporary restaurant for “extra moments”.
During the Château's open days, at Easter and in November in particular, but also during summer evenings, Romain never forgets to delight the taste buds of visitors who come to discover the gardens, the vineyard or even the cellar.
Its motto: “Shared pleasure is the true cradle of emotions”.

Alix and Romain offer tours of their estate during opening hours, all year round and every day for a duration of approximately one and a half hours.
