Château Clément Termes is a family-run wine estate located in Lisle sur Tarn, in the southwest of France, within the thousand-year-old Gaillac vineyard.
A little history
The estate was created by Clément Termes in 1860. Passionate about wine and vines, he built a winemaking cellar in 1868. The château was built a few years later. He shipped his wines in barrels throughout France. The clergy made up the majority of his clientele.
Several generations have followed one another; in 1968, Jean David who enlarged the surface area of the vineyard and expanded the winery, in 1970, his son François who developed the operation thanks to the arrival of new techniques.
Today, Caroline and Olivier, the 7th generation, accompany Château Clément Termes into this new century.
Wines :
The fruit of the work of an independent winemaker, Château Clément Termes offers a wide range of wines. From the traditional cuvée, to the Bulles or the Gaillac perlé, the wines of the estate express the terroir of Gaillac wines.
Indeed, the Château's wines are partly made from local grape varieties, characteristic of the appellation. In white you will discover the Mauzac, rich and fruity, and the Loin de l'œil, fresh and lemony. And in red the complex Braucol, the fruity Duras and Prunelard.
More well-known grape varieties complete the blends: Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle, Syrah and Merlot.
All the estate’s wines carry the HVE – High Environmental Value – label, with Château Clément Termes having been HVE level 3 certified since April 2018.
Respect for the environment and biodiversity are to this day one of the strong commitments of the domain.
