Day 1

Castelnau-de-Montmiral

  • Stroll the streets and alleys of this high-perched city, overlooking the Grésigne forest from Pechmiral. Its Place aux arcades is a must, the heart of life where the small local producers' market is held every Tuesday morning. Don't forget to visit theChurch of the Assumption and its fabulous treasure of the reliquary cross.
  • In the afternoon, depending on the season, take the path to Lagarde Castle Trail for a hike or to join the Vère-Grésigne leisure center and enjoy the freshness of the water.
  • At Oppidum, you will immerse yourself in the know-how of an artisan-creator of 100% natural and organic soaps and care products. June to September, free discovery of the making of their soaps in their workshop.

Day 2

Puycelsi, the fortress of the woods

In the morning

Take the road along the Vère valley to reach the city of Puycelsi, classified as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”. A magical experience, walking along the old patrol path which offers a spectacular view of landscapes of valleys and forests. Take a break to visit theAloussa ceramic workshop and its unique pieces. With a bit of luck, you will be able to witness the enameling on porcelain.

The afternoon

  • For sportive people, the hiking loop on the Heritage Trail in Puycelsi, which runs along the Departmental Conservatory of fruit species and old vines, the Grésigne forest and the Audoulou stream for a refreshing break.
    Route: 12 km (possible variation at 7 km) – Average difficulty (approx. 4 hours)
  • For the nostalgic from the 80s, a vintage moped ride from Larroque to Puycelsi or Castelnau-de-Montmiral.

Day 3 & 4

Reconnecting with Mother Nature

Enjoy a horse or pony ride to discover multiple landscapes between fields, forests or even vineyards, the choice will be difficult. Let yourself be guided by the Grésigne Equestrian Farm for 1 or 2 hours of reconnecting with nature.

Penne: its castle and the Aveyron gorges

  • The dizzying fortress of Penne which stands at 90m high, as if clinging to the cliff, does that appeal to you? In the summer, immerse yourself in the medieval era of the castle with demonstrations by medieval builders, costumed guided tours and entertainment (armored combat, archery, etc.).
  • In the afternoon, canoeing down the Aveyron gorges. A well-deserved refreshing break in a Natura 2000 listed site!

Day 5

A day in Cordes sur ciel

Discover Cordes sur Ciel At sunrise, from the Pied-Haut, it is an ode to poetry. The holy grail is to contemplate the city floating above the clouds... Then head to the village and its cobbled streets where you will discover many artists' and craftsmen's studios. This day will stretch out gently with the unmissable Garden of Paradise and its sweet scents or the Yves Thuriès Chocolate Arts Museum.
