Since 1991, the Contemporary Ceramics Market has brought together every spring an exceptional selection of 70 ceramicists from all over France and Europe. Over the years, this event has established itself as an unmissable event for contemporary ceramics enthusiasts in the greater South-West.

Organised by the Terre et Terres association, this benchmark event in France and Europe brings together 65 ceramicists from all over France and elsewhere, offering the public an exceptional panorama of current trends in ceramics.

An exceptional market in the heart of Tarn

Set up in the picturesque alleys of the historic centre of Giroussens (Tarn, Occitanie), the market stands reveal an incredible diversity of creations: utilitarian pieces, sculptures, decorative objects, ceramic jewellery... Each artist presents a unique universe, mixing traditional techniques and contemporary experiments.
For over 30 years, this event has attracted art lovers, collectors and curious people in search of beautiful discoveries. It also offers a real encounter with the ceramists, allowing visitors to discuss with them their profession, their inspirations and the secrets of manufacturing.

Get started with ceramics

The Contemporary Ceramics Market is not only an exhibition and sales venue, it is also a lively and participatory event!
Ceramic coffee : a unique experience where you can enjoy coffee or tea in a cup made by a ceramicist. A simple and authentic moment to experience the material differently.
Modeling and introductory turning workshops : young and old will be able to get their hands dirty and discover the ancestral gestures of potters, under the watchful eye of professionals.
A stand of ceramic equipment, offered by Céram Décor, will allow beginners and enthusiasts to equip themselves or find out about the techniques and tools available.

Le Carré Sculpture: ceramic art in large format

At the heart of the market, on the Place du Belvédère, the Carré Sculpture showcases artists who work with ceramics in a sculptural form. Exhibited outdoors, these monumental works push the limits of the material and give a new dimension to ceramics.
For this 2025 edition, several renowned ceramists will present their sculptural creations, offering visitors an immersion in artistic universes that are as varied as they are inspiring.

An exhibition not to be missed

In parallel with the market, the Centre Céramique de Giroussens will host the exhibition “Sculptures sigillées, une approche contemporaine”, visible from April 19 to June 15, 2025. This exhibition explores an ancestral technique of finishing ceramic pieces, revisited by contemporary artists. A great opportunity to extend the experience and deepen your view of ceramic art.
