Cité minière des Homps

Built after the First World War, the Cité minière des Homps was intended to house foreign workers who came to enrich the ranks of miners.

If the Cité minière des Homps has undergone several evolutions, originally it included a hundred contiguous dwellings whose only element of «comfort» resided in a coal stove enthroned in the room. The visit of «the House of the Polish» plunges you into the daily life of these miners thanks to the period furniture and explanatory panels on the work in the mines, the city regulations.

We advise you to make a «walk in minor soil» during which you will learn many things about the mining epic in Cagnac-les-Mines.
