Perched villages, fortified bastides, medieval cities, "eagle's nests"... they all have a unique soul and atmosphere. A crazy charm! The towns and villages of Tarn tell the story of these women and men with strong characters.
On the banks of the Tarn or perched on the hills, each wall, each stone whispers to those who want the adventures of this land of passions. Catharism and Wars of Religion, engagements and struggles have marked the landscape and the temperament of Tarn.

10:00 a.m. • Visit of Castelnau-de-Montmiral: Raymond VII, Count of Toulouse, had this fortified town built in the XNUMXth century to compensate for the destruction caused by the Albigensian Crusade. Listed among "The Most Beautiful Villages of France", it preserves magnificent old residences and a square with arcades decorated with covered roofs supporting corbelled floors. The XNUMXth century church has an exceptional polychrome stone statue dating from the same period and a sumptuous reliquary cross of the Counts of Armagnac. A breathtaking viewpoint overlooks the Vère Valley and the Grésigne forest.

11:30 a.m. • Welcome to the Miellerie de Puycelsi. With 1200 hives and over 30 years of experience, you will become familiar with the world of bees through the immense culture and know-how of this family of beekeepers. Tasting and discovery of their beautiful range of products from this production. A good time, rich in anecdotes and discoveries because honey is essential!!! and you will leave converted.

12:30 p.m. • Departure for the village of Puycelsi, lunch at the Ancienne Auberge restaurant and a well-deserved break.

14:00 p.m. • Visit the hilltop village of Puycelsi: on the bastide circuit, you will discover this splendid village, classified among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France", which also overlooks the Vère valley and the Grésigne forest. The village was created around a former Benedictine monastery of which only the imposing church dedicated to Saint-Corneille remains today. Puycelsi preserves traces of its religious past with the Saint-Roch chapel built in 1703 following a vow against the plague around the village.

15:00 p.m. • Continuation of this beautiful day of discovery with a visit to the departmental conservatory, truly committed to a sustainable development approach. The 8 ha of plots installed at the foot of the fortified village of Puycelsi, are home to more than 700 old varieties of pome fruit trees (apple and pear trees), stone fruit trees (plum, cherry and peach trees cherry trees, peach trees) and more than 100 grape varieties of old vines. Welcome to the conservatory house, guided tour of the orchards.
