Les pigeonniers, toute une histoire…
Program
The Tarn landscape is enriched by a centuries-old heritage of noble privilege with more than 1700 dovecotes standing proudly in our countryside and particularly in the Gaillac vineyard.
Affection, tenderness and protection are the symbol of the pigeon's feather, so let's go for some great discoveries.
10:00 a.m. – Welcome of the group in the small village of Lombers, at the “Les Pigeons du Mont Royal” Farm. A rich visit as it is told with pride and passion by these unconditional fans of these birds. On the program, visit of a dovecote and its aviary, demonstration of sail pigeons, presentation of derived products.
12:15 p.m. – Lunch at the farm inn with farm produce and pigeon as a variety.
14:00 p.m. – Departure for the Domaine du Buc in Marssac sur Tarn, a magnificently restored ancestral property and setting for a splendid and unusual square-section dovecote with its rotating ladder providing access to the dovecotes…
After the guided tour, you can enjoy this bucolic site while tasting a fruit juice.
16:00 p.m. – Departure for the Domaine de la Croix des Marchands, on the left bank of the Tarn. This is the site of a two-thousand-year-old love story between the Earth and the Vine. A former crossroads for potters in the Gallo-Roman era, this place had long been predestined for the vine. This family vineyard has been passed down from father to son for several generations, with a deep attachment to the terroir and the grape varieties.
Guided tour of the estate and tasting of the products from their production. A pleasant end-of-day break in the company of these charming winegrowers.
17:00 p.m. • End of our services, departure of the group.
