Nestled in the heart of a pleasant park, the Château de Foucaud houses the Gaillac Museum of Fine Arts. The permanent collection offers a remarkable panorama of 19th and 20th century art through the creations of regional artists.
Built around 1660, on the plan of the Villa d'Este, the Château de Foucaud, which houses the Gaillac Museum of Fine Arts, is located in the centre of a superb Italian and French garden descending in terraces towards the Tarn River.
The permanent collection presents works from the great artistic movements that have marked history, from the end of the 19th century to the contemporary era, from the neoclassical and romantic paintings of Fortuné Dufau and Firmin Salabert, to the expressionism of Marie Bermond and the poetic reality of Jules Cavailles. A room is also reserved for the sculpture of Jules Pendaries.
