Musée Charles Portal – Art, Histoire et Patrimoine du Pays Cordais

In a medieval Historic Monument, discover the history of Cordes sur Ciel, from prehistory to the contemporary era, by evoking the specificities covered since its creation in 1222. The town draws its wealth from leather and especially from weaving.
Managed by the association "Société des Amis du Vieux Cordes" (1904), the Musée de France Charles Portal is a museum of art, history and heritage of the Pays Cordais. Rich in unique pieces (until now), it explains the defensive medieval architecture with its history from prehistory to the present day. The videos presented (Water in Cordes, The well, the Ferrat Book, "The son of the embroiderer", the fate of the apostles ...), the exhibition rooms on three floors, the viewpoint of the terrace, form the milestones of the History and legends of Cordoa.
Sustainable tourism

The museum is open to all, the pricing is conscious. The aim of the association is to make this site "Grand site d'Occitanie" known to everyone, with its wealth without the limit of each person's means.
