Centre Archéologique

The Archéosite invites you to travel back in time. Discover the incredible destiny of this small Gallic village that became one of the largest ceramic production centers of the Roman Empire.
Archéosite: Archaeology in the present! An original way to experience archaeology differently.

Push open the doors of the Archéosite, located in the heart of the thousand-year-old Gaillac vineyard, and set off to discover the incredible destiny of a small Gallic village that became one of the largest ceramic manufacturing centers of the Roman Empire.

Through its archaeological collections and its life-size reconstruction of a Roman street and house, come and discover the history of our region in a different way, by traveling through time to discover ancient civilizations.

All year round, the Archéosite offers visitors, young and old, the opportunity to take part in fun and educational activities and also participates in several renowned national events. In the spring, an exceptional week allows visitors to relive the great moments of antiquity, with demonstrations and experiments led by a historical reenactment troupe.
