“Responsible Tourism” approach

In trying to live and promote a more responsible ecological approach, we have already implemented or are applying the following steps. We invite you to participate and promote more sustainable tourism with us.

# Reduction of energy and water consumption:
– All lights are equipped with low-energy LED bulbs
– The heaters have the latest technologies for optimizing consumption and automatic cut-off if an open window is detected.
– All taps, mixers and shower heads have a water-saving system.
– The 2 toilets in the cottage have a dual-flush system, saving water.
– Provision of a dishwasher, more water-efficient than manual washing.

# Optimize waste management:
– Provision of sorting bins with clear explanations.
– Provision of a composter.
– Provision of jute shopping bags.

# Promote greener travel and activities.
– We do not use pesticides or other harmful products for garden maintenance.
– To promote biodiversity and the replanting of hedgerows, we collaborated with the “Arbres et Paysage” association to plant a 140-meter hedge.
Composed solely of endemic plants and shrubs. We also continue to plant new trees every year.
– Provision of a bicycle storage room, with lock.
– Provision of timetables and promotion of train travel in the region. Regular connections to Albi, Rodez, Toulouse, Montauban, etc.
– Gaillac currently has 3 electric bike rental companies, you will find the list and contact details at the end of the welcome booklet.
– The setting and environment of the cottage invite you to go for a walk or hike, on foot or by bike (and even on horseback). You will find documentation on nearby circuits in the
information made available.
– To promote short circuits and local productions, we favor local markets and producers. We have included some information and documentation in the
welcome booklet, concerning the locations and times of the markets as well as some nearby producers.

# How to participate?
– Of course, first of all by respecting and participating in the gestures and behaviors already applied:
° compliance with waste sorting and use of the composter
° attention paid to water and electricity consumption by favoring responsible behavior
° general respect for nature by minimizing our carbon footprint as much as possible
° By promoting local and short-circuit activities and travel, low-carbon travel and walking trips.
