Exposition : Gérard Capou – Le poème de la peinture

This exhibition, which inaugurates the season, will immerse us in the abundant pictorial universe of Gérard Capou.

Painter of Tarn origin, some of you remember his studio in Cordes sur Ciel which he occupied from 1970 to 1982, others listened to him with great attention during the drawing classes he gave in Gaillac and during the painting courses he organized. His insatiable curiosity, his passion for painting and drawing, but also for music and poetry, throughout his life he never stopped painting, practicing new techniques (Carton de Tapisseries, watercolor, oil on paper, vat paper ...) to be inspired by the great masters of art and to share his knowledge.

We pay tribute to him through this exhibition composed of around fifty paintings, drawings and tapestry cartoons and documents retracing his career.

Oscillating between reality and its appearances, between rigor and magic, between fidelity to tradition and adventure, such is my philosophy of life: to exist AT THE HEIGHT OF MY DREAMS...

Brigitte and Isabelle Capou, his daughters, will be present at the inauguration.
