In Occitan Tuscany, many small roads crisscross the plains and hills. The best way to discover them in slow mode with the wind in your hair? A bike ride, of course.

Hop on an electric bike to take on our most beautiful paths

In spring, summer and even autumn, there is nothing more pleasant than going for a walk in the morning or late afternoon, when the sun's rays are just beginning to set below the horizon. The scents and colours, magnified by the light, offer a panorama that can be enjoyed in the serene silence of a bike ride.
Come on, saddle up, turn the pedals and let's go!

In Gaillac

Heading to the city center, a few steps from Place de la Libération, Christophe welcomes us at Station Bee's. He offers electric mountain bikes to explore the vineyards, but also non-electric road and gravel bikes.

Attacking medieval cities

His favorite destinations? Medieval cities.
From Gaillac, set off with a ready-made GPX track (translation for the uninitiated: follow the track provided that appears on your phone) towards Castelnau-de-Montmiral, Puycelsi or Cordes sur Ciel. Some circuits even offer a stop at a wine estate. A word of advice for tasting enthusiasts… In moderation, because you will then have to return to Gaillac by pedaling!

Tested out for you

The Toscane Occitane team tried the route that leads to Castelnau-de-Montmiral! Early in the morning, and in a good mood, we adjust the height of the saddle and the handlebars and off we go.
Just a few hundred meters to travel in the streets of Gaillac then very quickly, we drive on peaceful country roads where cars are rare. Surrounded by the smells of freshly cut grass, flowers or wheat fields… We are immersed in the atmosphere. We climb the winding road without effort to reach a ridge line or in good weather, we see the Pyrenees as if we were there! Arrived in Castelnau-de-Montmiral, we enjoy a well-deserved break then we go back down quietly by another path surrounded by vineyards. Practical, easy, accessible, this is an exotic outing even if you live nearby!

In Lisle-sur-Tarn

Between vines and umbrella pines

My Destination

In Lisle-sur-Tarn, head to the Vélos de Léonce, which take their name from the whimsical Léonce Rudelle. Just a stone's throw from the train station, you can find electric mountain bikes to explore the surrounding vineyards. To go further, there are marked trails available to the Sivens forest, the first trees of which are just a few hills from the brick bastide. For adventurers who want to go even further, the Grésigne forest, Castelnau-de-Montmiral or Puycelsi are yours! All while taking little-known roads where you come across gems of heritage and nature.

Diving in the Bonnan Valley

Further north, on the edge of Aveyron, the Nids de Bonnan are nestled very close to the valley of the same name. There, Fabrice will advise you on choosing the perfect electric mountain bike to explore these unique landscapes in Occitan Tuscany!

In Aiguelèze

Crossing the Tarn plain

Another option for crisscrossing the plain on the outskirts of Albi or venturing towards the hills of Sénouillac is the Pommiers d'Aiguelèze campsite. Even if you don't stay in its chalets, you can rent bikes there and venture along the Tarn from the Aiguelèze leisure centre.
