Aster Cassel

Using traditional modeling techniques, Aster CASSEL uses porcelain and stoneware, sometimes creating dialogues between volume and design, which she applies with a brush to each of her works.

Her universe is distinguished by its figurative and narrative graphic style, most often in black and white contrasted by colored flat tints, where subtle touches of precious metals sometimes highlight the details of her work. Through this singular writing that is drawing, she captivates her audience through extraordinary creatures, multiple eyes, improbable mechanisms, chimeras with outstretched wings or even fragmented anatomies.

Between the fantastic world of childhood and the more disturbing world of adults, Aster presents us with a work that mixes mythologies, tales, references to literature or quite simply his personal wanderings.

From hybridization to metamorphosis, his work sometimes invites dreams, sometimes questions.

Using narration and symbolism, she invites us to travel through time and the enigmas of the unconscious to discover an unknown world, perhaps hers, perhaps ours. Because that is the poetry of her work, it does not push us into the artist's world but invites us to dive together into a new imagination.
