In the land of the Bastides.
Castelnau-de-Montmiral is a medieval town proudly dominating the Vère valley. The view from inside the village, classified among "The most beautiful in France", justifies this impression of an impregnable fortress. The typical charm of the facades, its arcaded square and its pillory bear witness to a history and heritage that are still very present.
That's not all, nature lovers can discover magnificent trails and viewpoints over the nearby Grésigne forest. A former observation post and impregnable fortress, Castelnau is today a haven of peace whose charming central square is closed to cars. A jewel inherited from the Middle Ages, the city is home to treasures to be discovered. Are you ready to travel back in time?
