It is in a peaceful environment, dotted with hillsides, vineyards, groves and wheat fields that Janita and Serge are pleased to welcome you.
Around the house there is a garden of more than 2 hectares.
Around the house there is a garden of more than 2 hectares.
Located on the Gaillac – Cordes-sur-Ciel axis, Le Mas is an old 18th century mansion, in white stone, typical of the region. Two spacious guest rooms have been fitted out upstairs. Accessible by a driveway leading directly onto the property. The building is surrounded by meadows, the landscape is hilly and the view overlooks the fields, the vineyards
and the woods. It is in this setting that you will meet Serge and Janita, who will be happy to advise you on exploring the region, but also discuss some of their passions such as cooking for Janita, or gardening for Serge.
The renovation combines the charm of exposed stone and wood, with comfort and modern decoration. Quiet but not isolated, you will have access in a few minutes on foot, to all the local shops of the village and also to health services such as doctors, pharmacy and first aid center. Thus, you will have an excellent starting point to radiate in the surroundings and
take advantage of the many activities available to you:
– Hiking: The GR46 is located 100 m from the house and many marked trails starting from the village are possible (walks in the hillsides, between vineyards and sunflower fields dotted with many dovecotes and characterful houses). For fans of walks in the woods, you will have the Grésigne forest 15 km away, made up of 3600 ha of oaks, the largest of this type in the southwest.
– Bike: Road, classic or electric mountain bike, again, many marked cycle routes are available: Gaillac vineyard circuit, Albi bastides, etc. A closed shelter will be made available to you for bicycles.
– Horse riding: an equestrian farm is located 500 m from the house.
– Water activities: the Vère/Grésigne leisure centre is 11 km away in the commune of Castenau-de-Montmirail, and the Aiguelèze activity centre, on the Tarn, with the possibility of canoe rental, is 13 km away.
– Golf: 13km away: Aiguelèze (9 holes), in the village of Rivières and Albi (18 holes), 18km away.
– Gaillac vineyard: The oldest in France! The wine is made from thousand-year-old grape varieties, some of which are endemic to this vineyard. Tours and tastings guaranteed! Many aperitif concerts and other events
organized in the various wine estates in the surrounding area.
– Historical sites:
20km away: Albi and its imposing Sainte-Cécile cathedral, a UNESCO world heritage site, not forgetting the Toulouse-Lautrec museum located next to the cathedral.
2km away: Château fort de Mauriac: founded by a Templar in the XNUMXth century. Private but open to visitors.
– The villages classified as “the most beautiful villages in France”:
10km away: Castenau-de-Montmirail.
13 km away: Cordes-sur-Ciel.
19 km away: Puycelsi.
30km away: Lautrec.
And many others a little further away.
