From Gaillac to Castelnau-de-Montmiral, this mountain bike route takes you to the top of the hilltop town of Castelnau-de-Montmiral, passing through the Premières Côtes de Gaillac before reaching the Cordais plateau. Bonus: on the road, stop to meet the winemakers.
This tour is a feast for the eyes, in all seasons. In spring, the vines are bright green; in autumn, the landscape is ochre and gold; and in summer, sunflowers adorn the hilly landscape.
Step 1
From Gaillac to Domaine Vaysette
Smooth departure from Bee Stations to meet an independent winemaker, a few kilometers away, at Domaine Vayssette. A family property for three generations, Domaine Vayssette is operated as an independent winegrower where the three co-managers, Jacques, Maryse and their son, Patrice and his wife, are in turn winegrowers, oenologists, accountants and salespeople. Even the grandchildren have a role in the structure: the vintages bear their first name!
And if we decide to take our time, we stop before Chateau Balsamine to admire the view of Gaillac.
Step 2
Domaine Vayssette – Castelnau-de-Montmiral
Take the road again to cross hamlets, over hills and valleys. Stop at the Mas Pignou, famous for its wines of course, but also for its immense umbrella pines, emblematic of the landscapes of Occitan Tuscany. Finally, Castelnau-de-Montmiral will stand in all its splendor at the bend of a path. Magnificent medieval village which has been part of the prestigious circle of Grands Sites Occitanie since 2018… We advise you to take the time to stroll through the alleys! And why not, eat a bite at theArcades Inn.
Step 3
Back to Bee's Stations in Gaillac
Take your electric bike back to Stations Bee's Gaillac. The return by electric bike will be easy and you will pass by some paths and trails down to Gaillac. On the road, two more areas to visit: Canto Perlic and Domaine Duffau.
